Variable Speed Drive Triol AK06 narrows Harmonic Distortion down

Triol AK06 VSD offers a broad range of control modes, features, options, and packaging, for use in factory automation processes and industrial OEM machines. Triol AK06 VSD with active harmonic filter (AHF) comes as an optimal solution for the efficient operation of oil companies.

Such elaboration is useful for petroleum production; it’s intended to reduce harmonic distortions in the network caused by work of 6-12-pulse rectifiers of VSD. Triol AK06 VSD with AHF includes the full functional management of ESP, compatible with different submersible motors (Induction, PMM, Linear), it is designed to protect downhole installation of the ESP series from 80 to 1700 kVA. High-powered semiconducting converters have negative effect on the main supply in connection with a non-sinusoidal current consumption. It distorts the form of the current consumption to 40%, while the power factor decreases to 0,8%. This leads to the reactive current consumption and excessive heating of supply conductors. Integrated input and output filters allow you to have a quick start of work installation as well as to provide high-quality of supplying voltage for network. A period of engine service reaches the same values as when runs directly from the mains. Active filtration generates ac signal that is back of harmonic distortion.

It affords to get sinusoidal current consumption and eliminate additional losses in heating the supply conductors. As a result, current consumption is obtained a form close to sinusoidal with harmonic reducing from 30% to 5%. A tendency like this is fully compliant with IEEE519 standard. Harmonics may be greatly magnified by power factor correction capacitors. Supply system inductance can resonate with the capacitors at some harmonic frequency, causing large currents and voltages to develop. This may damage equipment. In addition, since the impedance of a capacitor decreases with increasing frequency, capacitors tend to act as sinks for higher-order harmonics.

Triol AK06 VSD is space-saving and high-powered equipment. It provides uninterrupted control algorithms on the set of asynchronous and brushless motors, minimizes the distortion of the mains supply and ensures minimum wear of downhole equipment. Using this installation is useful for oil companies where the generator power should be full used either reduced losses from current harmonics and reactive currents.
